As 2017 rolls in we would just like to say a massive Happy new year to everyone.

Thanks for all your support in 2016, a very difficult year for us.

Rest assured we are working and writing hard to ensure that we deliver on our promise.
That we will continue to give 110% every gig and put on a memorable and fun show.

We'll see you soon!

Farewell brother...

For Some reason this post vanished from the website, so I'm putting it back up.  (From 23rd June 2016)

It is with a great sadness, and a heavy heart, that we must announce that following a long battle with illness our great friend, band mate and brother, Tim Stamps has passed away leaving a void that shall never be filled.

Tim was a founding member of the band, being there in it's formation many years ago and was monumental in bringing us to where we are now.

Over those years Tim shared the stage with a long list of band mates from The Whipjacks and before.

Dean Miles, Tim Pearson, Daniel Oliver, Chris Richardson, Arran Gould, Simon Cooper, Malcolm Wyatt, Tim wright and Ashley Curtis to name just a few.  I speak for all of us when I say that the stage will always feel emptier without him.

Being a member of The Whipjacks was one of Tim's great joys and it was his request that we continued on when he made the difficult decision to step away from the band, due to his ill health just a few months ago and we will honor that request moving forward, as we did then.

Thank you Tim.

You were an inspiration and a friend.

But above all you were a band mate and you don’t get much closer than that.

Farewell until we all meet again.

The end of an Era

After a long time with us Dan has made the difficult decision to say farewell and pursue other life commitments.
It with a sadness we bid him farewell, but we will do that during our final show with him Friday 6th March.
Check out the gigs section here

But it is also a chance to usher in a new phase in the Whipjack story.

So we're not going anywhere, we're here to stay.....

Campfire Song - Sung and Sunset

posted 10 Sep 2014, 03:32 by Dean Miles   [ updated 10 Sep 2014, 03:32 by Web Master ]

Hey everyone!

Lakefest has been and gone, but what a weekend!
Loads of sun for the first two days then a storm unlike any other to herald our arrival onto the Floating Globe stage, when it broke and we had an hour of clear weather.
Perfect!
And despite nature trying to destroy our tents everyone had an amazing time.

Friday night brought with it, as well has a tonne of beer, a brilliantly beautiful sunset.  So half-cut and blurry eyed, we decided to film an impromptu video with the sun as a backdrop.
Check it out here or click on the media tab above!

Keep tuned for the future and we hope to be seeing you very shortly!!!

2014 UPDATE!

posted 27 Jun 2014, 02:25 by Web Master   [ updated 27 Jun 2014, 02:25 ]

Good day Whipjackers!
It's been quiet on the website, apologies for that!
We, however have not been idle.
Both Tim P and Dean have become proud fathers in the last few months and so nappies and baby related things have meant that we've been out gigging less than usual.
However, it's summer and Lakefest is just around the corner!
And yes, once again The Whipjacks will be slamming a tankard or two down and jigging our way through the weekend!
1pm on Sunday 10th August we'll be opening the Floating Globe stage for the final day of the festival.

If you can't wait that long we'll be playing in Hereford on Friday 25th July.  Full details will be following soon.

If you truely can't wait that long then check out http://www.youtube.com/channel/UCR7Vp4DTSFRsfMgyN4heXqQ

There you can find a few tracks we recorded earlier this year.  Soon to be available on iTunes and CD from a gig near you.

We look forward to seeing you very soon!

Cheers!
